About My Photographs

The majority of photographs I make are based on scenic subjects.  Although landscapes and nature are primary sources for my images, I also look to urban scenes, cityscapes, and scenic objects that I find.  That said, I will also make abstract photographs when I see the opportunity.

I look for image opportunities with lines, shapes and light where I can make a balanced composition in colour or black and white that I feel is visually and emotionally satisfying.

About Me

My interest in photography began about twenty years ago when I realized that I needed an intellectual and emotional challenge to complement my business career.  While I started and learned on film based photography, I followed the global transition to digital and now use a high end DSLR system along a couple of mirrorless platforms.  Although my photographic interests were similar to what they are today, for a long time my photography was built around occasional weekends, vacations and travel.

Having recently retired from business, I’ve been able to bring a focus to my photographic activities that I could not have done in the past.  This has allowed me the time to continue to develop my artistic vision.  As a result, the majority of the photographs on this website are of more recent origin.  However, I have a substantial library of photographs made over the past twenty years and will from time to time add images that meet my current aesthetic.
